- Tough evening for U13s
An away fixture to Carras in Garrymore proved a reality check for our U13s after last week's win over Shrule/Glencorrib. Carras stormed into an unassailable lead after 10 minutes and it was damage limitation after that. Despite scoring five goals of our own, we were stretched in every position on the field. Our heads dropped but positives can be taken from the game as we slowly improved in the second half. Our boys gave everything they had but it wasn't to be. We'll regroup and prepare for our next fixture, at home, to Parke next Thursday. The faces say it all...

- Kilmeena V Shrule/Glencorrib Homeland Boys U13D 2021-06-17
Kilmeena U13s bag three points in epic encounter Kilmeena U13s secured their first three points of the season in an amazing match against Shrule/Glencorrib on a beautiful, sunny evening in Kilmeena. In the opening five minutes, Shrule/Glencorrib blew us away. We suddenly found ourselves eight points down. Shellshocked, we struggled to regain our composure, and things didn’t augur well for the rest of the game. However, our boys chipped away at Shrule/Glencorrib’s lead, and amazingly we found ourselves a mere three points down at halftime. After a constructive team talk at halftime, our boys knuckled down and excelled at the basics. Our defence was watertight and prevented the opposition from registering a single score in the second half. Every one of our players seemed energised by the example set by our backs. We started playing some beautiful football out from the back, through the midfield and into our forwards, who proved too powerful for their defence. In the end, it was a thirteen point win - an incredible turnaround. These boys proved that anything is possible with their skill, application and desire, and any hurdle can be overcome. As coaches, we are so incredibly proud of them. We look forward to our next encounter, away to Carras, next Thursday. Match report: Barry Murphy. Kilmeena 6 - 9 4 - 2 Shrule/Glencorrib more...

- Tough start to the league for U13s!
Kilmeena U13s travelled to Aghamore last Thursday evening, June 10th, for their opening league game of the season. It turned out to be a one-sided affair with Aghamore dominating play from the start and establishing an insurmountable lead. It took the final quarter for our boys to eventually settle down, outpointing the opposition to regain some pride. While, on the face of it, it was a good beating, there were plenty of positives to be taken from the encounter with some good skills and teamwork displayed. We’ll take the lessons learnt from this game and be ready for our next outing against Shrule/Glencorrib in Kilmeena next Thursday. Photos of the match can be viewed here.
