- Kilmeena vs Swinford - Homeland Minor League Div 4
We played our second game of the Season away to Swinford on Thursday 1st April on a fabulous spring evening ! We were definitely the stronger team in the first half despite playing against the breeze and led 1-9 to 1-6 at the break. We had a good start to the second half and increased our lead to five point before Swinford had their period of dominance in the final quarter. An entertaining and competitive game ended level at 2-13 each. While disappointed not come away with a victory, despite having lead for most of the game , we could well have been defeated we're it not for the heroics of Louie in goal near the end. Team picture : Back row - Logan Heraty, Alan Gannon, Dean Staunton, Eoghan Cannon, Kyle Mulchrone, Louie Corcoran, Alan Mortimer, Tiernan Aherne , Cormac O'Malley, Brendon Witzl. Front Row - Cormac Slattery, Shane Forde Lavelle, Darragh O'Grady, Sean Keane, Aaron Murray, Adam Moran, Patrick Feehan, Alex Kenning, Ruairi Kilcoyne

- Kilmeena V Breaffy Kelly Cup 1st Round 2025-03-16
Both teams and officials adapted well to the first chance to test the new rules proposed by the F.R.C. during the first round of the Kelly Cup in Breaffy yesterday. Although Kilmeena fielded a reduced number of their regular team, they still managed to put up a strong resistance against the more experienced Breaffy squad. Goals are crucial in any game, and Breaffy capitalized on the goal-scoring opportunities that came their way, ultimately winning with a scoreline of: Kilmeena 0 - 11 4 - 12 Breaffy more...

- Tommy Cox RIP
It is with deep sadness that we learned of the passing of Tommy Cox, Mayour, Kilmeena, a man who left an indelible mark on his community. Tommy was an exceptional sportsman and a proud Kilmeena native. In the 1950s, he was an outstanding player for Kilmeena GAA, earning recognition for his talent and dedication to the game. His skill on the field led to his selection for the Mayo team during the 1953/54 league campaign. As a sub on the Mayo team that secured the National League Title in 1954, Tommy etched his name into the annals of Mayo GAA history. Beyond his contributions to football, Tommy was a passionate handballer, competing with Newport and claiming numerous titles. In 1964, his vision and drive helped establish the Kilmeena Handball Club, fostering a love of the sport in his community. That same year, he reached the Connaught doubles final, a testament to his skill and determination. Tommy’s commitment to the GAA extended beyond the pitch, serving as a delegate to the West Board in 1958. One of Tommy’s fondest memories came on February 6, 2022, when he was the first to arrive at Croke Park to cheer on his beloved Kilmeena as they clinched the All-Ireland Junior Club title. Reflecting on that joyous day, Tommy beamed with pride, describing it as "one of the best days of my life," his smile as broad as Clew Bay. Above all, Tommy was a true gentleman, known for his kindness, warmth, and dedication to his family and community. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. We extend our deepest sympathy to Tommy’s family during this difficult time. May his gentle soul rest in peace. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
