- Sad Passing of Tommy O'Malley
It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of Tommy O'Malley, a cherished member of our community and a true stalwart of Kilmeena GAA. Tommyโs life was one marked by kindness, dedication, and an unwavering love for his family, friends, and his local community. Tommy grew up with a deep connection to the community and in 1963, when Kilmeena GAA was reformed, Tommy was one of the first to answer the call. He played during those challenging years for the club, bringing skill, heart, and leadership to the team. A natural full back, Tommyโs defensive prowess was legendary, but his versatility allowed him to also thrive as a full forward in other games. Tommy hung up his boots in 1967, but his love for Kilmeena GAA never faded. In 1982, he returned in a team management role, serving as a club selector, further contributing to the growth and success of the club. He remained a loyal supporter, always following the fortunes of the club up until his recent illness. Ar dheis Dรฉ go raibh a anam.
