Kilmeena Tour the USA in June 1970

In June 1970, the Kilmeena GAA team embarked on an exciting tour of the USA, visiting seven cities and playing six football matches. This incredible journey created unforgettable memories and experiences along the way.

Martin McIntyre, a member of that renowned touring team, has meticulously documented this remarkable adventure in a captivating book.

The official launch of this publication will be held at the Buckfield Inn on this coming Friday evening, the 27th of June, at 8:30 pm.

As we gather for this special occasion, we will take a moment to honour the cherished members of the team who have sadly passed away in the intervening years. We will fondly remember their spirit and contributions to the Club during that era. We warmly invite all surviving touring party members to join us for an evening of reminiscing and storytelling about this legendary event alongside the relatives and friends of those who are no longer with us. This celebration promises to be a heartfelt gathering, and we encourage all club members to come together for this remembrance and tribute to past events.
