- Kilmeena U-12 boys win local Derby.
The Kilmeena U-12 lads put in a great performance in Newport yesterday evening, Monday the 22nd April coming away with a well deserved victory. It was nip and tuck in the first quarter with little separating the sides. Kilmeena moved up a gear in the second quarter to take a lead which they maintained in the third quarter. However, Burrishoole fought back in the final quarter to narrow the margin which left a tense few final minutes. The Kilmeena lads defended brilliantly to to hold on to a two point winning margin. Well done to both teams and management for a good sporting competitive game. Final Score, Kilmeena 1-11 to Burrishoole 1-09. Click here for photos from the game.

The Kilmeena U16 Girls home game against Charlestown this evening Wednesday the 17th of April. Playing conditions were good, and it made for an interesting encounter, despite a good start to game ebbed away from the home side with Charlestown been more clinical in taking their scores. As its often said Goals win matches and this was the case today, but in fairness, to Kilmeena girls they didn’t give up taking some excellent scores.
