Kilmeena G.A.A. Club wishes to put it on record and express our sincere gratitude and thanks to two Councillors from the West Mayo Municipal District for allocating to us funding from their G.M.A. Fund. Over the past two years the Club has received €10,000 from Councillor Brendan Mulroy and we obtained €5,500 from Councillor Christy Hyland. We, as a club, are indebited to both of these Councillors for their funding which is essential for the ongoing development at the Club. This money is being used in the continuing upgrading of the Club Facilities. We thank both Councillors for their help over the past number of years and look forward to their continuing support. The Kilmeena U-12 lads put in a great performance in Newport yesterday evening, Monday the 22nd April coming away with a well deserved victory. It was nip and tuck in the first quarter with little separating the sides. Kilmeena moved up a gear in the second quarter to take a lead which they maintained in the third quarter. However, Burrishoole fought back in the final quarter to narrow the margin which left a tense few final minutes. The Kilmeena lads defended brilliantly to to hold on to a two point winning margin. Well done to both teams and management for a good sporting competitive game. Final Score, Kilmeena 1-11 to Burrishoole 1-09. Click here for photos from the game.
