Today, 10th September is World Suicide Prevention Day. Kilmeena GAA Healthy Club were recently presented with the Samaritans sign which will be visible in our club as a reminder to all visiting our club grounds that you are never alone and there is always someone to listen. On Tuesday night our u15 boys played Mayo Gaels away in the Championship. After a competitive first half we were down by a point at the break ! In the second half we got into our groove and secured a comprehensive victory on a score line of 3-8 to 8-10. On the previous Tuesday night at home we defeated Ballaghadreen 6-15 to 7-10 . This was a very enjoyable victory , as very early on we we conceded two goals , but a great and disciplined performance in the second half saw us come out victors to the surprise of some ! With Darragh Keavney's expert guidance we are making real progress in training , and we are starting to apply the skills and tactics from training into matches. Let's keep the progress going !

After an emphatic win away to Achill on Monday, our U13s will play the D5 Championship final on Monday 12th September away, again, to Achill. Three wins from three saw our boys top the group after some very impressive performances.

The Kilmeena minor ladies played Tourmakeady in the Minor C Shield final on Sunday 28th August in The Connaught Centre of Excellence Following a defeat to Tourmakeady in their previous encounter the Kilmeena ladies were in no mood for a repeat. They took the game by the scruff of the neck from the throw in and took an early lead which they never relinquished. The ladies put on a display that any team would be proud of, excellent skills, support play and scoring. The future is looking good for Kilmeena LGFA.
