  • Tough start to the league for U13s!

Kilmeena U13s travelled to Aghamore last Thursday evening, June 10th, for their opening league game of the season. It turned out to be a one-sided affair with Aghamore dominating play from the start and establishing an insurmountable lead. It took the final quarter for our boys to eventually settle down, outpointing the opposition to regain some pride. While, on the face of it, it was a good beating, there were plenty of positives to be taken from the encounter with some good skills and teamwork displayed. We’ll take the lessons learnt from this game and be ready for our next outing against Shrule/Glencorrib in Kilmeena next Thursday. Photos of the match can be viewed here.

  • Junior Ladies Return to Play 2021-05-12

The bright evening sunshine and sharp northerly wind yesterday evening, Wednesday, welcomed the return of the Junior Ladies, coupled with the minor girls, to St Brendan's Park for their opening training session of 2021. In keeping with previous team returns, despite the lockdown, it was evident that the girls hadn't lost any of their enthusiasm for the game as the management team put them through their paces. Hopefully, this level of interest will prevail for the season as we cautiously and confidently approach the first of the competitive matches in "June." • GAA Club Presentations for 2020

Since this time last year, the Covid-19 restrictions imposed by the Government and other authorities precluded the annual Club awards from being presented within the expected timeframe to worthy recipients for 2020. Typically, senior presentations are conferred with the fanfare, excitement and intrigue at the Club's annual Dinner Dance. Bord na nÓg beneficiaries would have expected the same exhilaration at their yearly gatherings, with contemporary sporting personalities on hand to make the awards. While the circumstances of the presentations may not have occurred as in previous years' salubrious surroundings, nevertheless, it did not detract from the importance of the occasion as each recipient received their accolade at the Clubhouse with the approval and admiration of their colleagues.
