Long before the All-Ireland Champions arrived, supporters poured into the pristine and flag-decked St. Brendan's Park in Kilmeena, proudly wearing Mayo's green and red. Flags waved, and faces beamed with excitement as the crowd patiently awaited the moment they had longed for, the recently crowned All-Ireland Champions, after a 75-year wait, and Kilmeena's own Jack Carney, home with the Sam Maguire Cup. Families enjoyed picnics, Rory Joyce entertained the crowd, and the atmosphere buzzed with pride and anticipation among young and old alike. Report of the occasion to follow:
