Jim Browne R.I.P

Kilmeena GAA and parish are deeply saddened by the untimely loss of one of the community’s true gentlemen. Jim was an active member of our parish and a former club player. Jim also held many officer roles within the club throughout the 60's 70's and 80's. He was West board delegate in 1965, Vice chairman of the club from 1966 to 1971, Team selector in 1971 and club treasurer from 1976 to 1981.

He will be remembered by many for his dedication towards the underage section of our club in tough times during the 70’s and 80’s. It is no coincidence that many of the players coached by Jim at underage level were to feature prominently in later successes enjoyed by the club and having gained the love for our games, still remain active within the club thanks to Jim’s influence.

All at Kilmeena GAA club would like to extend their deepest sympathies to Jim’s wife Christina and to all his family and friends.
