Guess whose birthday it is?

Following a glittering footballing career, rumour has it that a Club stalwart has reached a milestone in his eventful life!

We cast our minds back to that historic day in 1986 when he captained the Kilmeena team to a West Mayo Junior Championship, defeating Breaffy in the final, and capturing the County Junior title for the Club later that year, beating Glencorrib in the County final.

These are but a couple of his many achievements as a player with Kilmeena G.A.A. Club. He will also remember at this time his great friend and buddy Mick Burke, who sadly passed away last year. Mick was team manager in 1986.

Later, he was a key member of the 2002 /03 Junior Management of the team beaten in the All Ireland Junior final against Nobber of Meath.

Phelim, the Club should wish to send you heartiest birthday greetings as you reflect on your illustrious past as a great Clubman and true Gael.

Looking none the worst for wear - Phelim, seen here celebrating the Club's 125th-anniversary celebrations in the Castlecourt Hotel with Club colleagues Michael Moore and Michael Ryan.

Phelim, as Captain of Kilmeena, receiving the West Mayo Cusack Cup from the then West Mayo Board Chairman, Fr. Brendan Forde in 1986. Also in the picture is Mel Kenny, now an eminent G.A.A. referee.

Phelim, enjoying the fruits of his team's success with Kilmeena supporter ???????
