The Alcohol and Substance Abuse Programme has been developed by the GAA and the Health Service Executive (HSE), to provide a framework to help clubs and local communities deal with alcohol and drug related issues.

Kilmeena GAA club have a responsibility to show leadership in the community and have produced and adopted a policy document that will apply to all users of our club. I would encourage all club members young and old to read and understand the policy.

Thanks to Willie Keaveney, our Alcohol and Substance Abuse Prevention (ASAP) officer for his hard work in heading up the programme.

The club will in the coming weeks, organise and host an information evening on Drug and substance abuse, details of which will be posted on the website and through social media. The evening will be open to everyone in the community with emphasis on our youth from age 15 years and their parents.
