The Kilmeena U-12 boys had an away league fixture and travelled the scenic journey to Achill yesterday evening, Monday the 1st July. The U-12 game consisted of four, ten-minute quarters. Kilmeena started strongly and registered some high-quality scores after fluid movement of the ball around the field. In defence their tackling was clinical with some fearless block downs and dispossessions from the attacking Achill team.
Kilmeena held a comfortable lead throughout with little wastage of the ball. Their accurate kicking was rewarded where they scored 4-16 before the final whistle. Achill did manage to penetrate through the defence a number of times scoring 3-03 over the course of the game. Well done to both teams and management.
