U-16 girls lose opening league game

Kilmeena played Westport B in the first round of the U-16 girls league this evening. The game was a closely contested affair right from the throw in. Kilmeena, playing with a slight wind advantage in the first half had a one point advantage at half time on a score line of 1-02 to 1-01.

Westport started the second half strong with a couple of quick scores. It was nip and tuck all through the second half with both teams exchanging well worked scores. Westport got their fourth goal in the final few minutes of the game.

The final score was Kilmeena 3-07 to Westport 4-08.

Well done to both teams for a good competitive game.
