Round 1 of the Kelly Cup got competitive football underway for Kilmeena Juniors this year. This was the first match played by the junior team on the new pitch. While underfoot conditions were good for this time of year, the weather was poor with rain and strong blustery Westerly breezes making football difficult for both teams. Despite Kilmeena having home advantage it was Balla that emerged on top with the Final score line of;
