U-16 girls played their second game of the season on Monday evening 23rd April against Westport. There was a very strong westerly wind blowing right down the pitch, Westport won the toss and started with the wind. Kilmeena were forced to defend for long periods of the first half which finished Westport 3-08 / Kilmeena 1-0. With the wind at their backs in the second half Kilmeena gradually clawed back the lead and levelled the game with about 5 mins to go, Westport made one last break against the run of play to score the winning point just before the final whistle. Final score Westport 3-10 / Kilmeena 3-09. A superb team performance by this group of girls.
