Kilmeena V Tourmakeady Minor League
The Kilmeena minor ladies played Tourmakeady in the first round of the 2018 league at home in wet and windy conditions on Wednesday evening. They got off to a great start and gaols by Lilly Brady, Katie Hogan and Sarah Harper put Kilmeena ahead after 15 minutes. Tourmakeady were denied goals chances on a number of occasions by excellent defending and saves by Susannah Horgan. The visitors continued to press and kicked some great points in the first half. The sides were level 3-2 to 1-8 at halftime. The second half was played at a fast pace with
Tourmakeady dominating possession. However points by Shannon Burke and Katie Hogan kept Kilmeena in touch. With 10 minutes remaining the sides were level but it was the visitors who finished strongest. It was a tough game for the minor ladies and the experience will stand to them in the future.
