U15s lay down a marker

A wonderful team performance on a soft pitch ensured both points for Kilmeena in their U15 Group C away to Knockmore. A flurry of early goals and points as a result of excellent defensive work combined with snappy link-up play, quality ball delivered into the forward line and crisp finishing, meant that at half time the score was Knockmore 0-2, Kilmeena 6-05.

The second half was more even with both teams trading scores but Kilmeena simply had too much for a shell-shocked Knockmore. The match finished Knockmore 1-10, Kilmeena 7-08. This result means that we have given ourselves a fighting chance of progressing to the knockout stages if we can produce a similar performance at home to Carras, who have won both of their fixtures, next Thursday week, 19th October.
