Kilmeena U13s' win against Islandeady made it two wins in their opening two games in the 2022 U13 D5 Championship. Having beaten Louisburgh well last week, this win meant that our lads have won against the two teams that had beaten them twice during the league campaign.
After clocking up an impressive lead by half time, the rain descended and lots of errors crept in to the game. Islandeady chipped away at our lead and were only two points behind at the start of the final quarter. However, our boys showed their resilience and dug in, eventually winning the game by six points. This talented bunch has taken time to gel as a team and this remarkable improvement in form is a credit to their hard work in training - in all weather conditions - and, from the coaches’ point of view, very encouraging.
Our third-round and final game, away to Achill, takes place next Monday, 29th August.
