Ladies just miss out in League Final

The Kilmeena ladies took on Breaffy in the Junior B league final on Sunday 10th Sept in Bekan. In what was to be an extremely well matched game, the Kilmeena ladies struck the first blow with a point from Emma Murray. However the Breaffy ladies weren’t long repsonding and found the back of the net a few minutes later. Breaffy’s defence were well organised and hard to penetrate however points from Eabha Carney,  Sheila Bohan and Ciara Joyce kept the laides in the game. The Kilmeena defence were also playing well and limited Breaffy to 3 points for the rest of the half. Breaffy leading by 1 point at half time.

The second half was just a tight as the first and with the intense heat every opportuinity was taken to get water onto the pitch. Breaffy started to pull ahead and looked to be putting the game out of Kilmeena’s reach. However goals form Eabha Craney and Ciara Joyce had Kilmeena right back in the game. It wasn’t to be for the Kilmeena ladies as they lost out by the narrowest of margins on a score of 2-10 to 2-09.
