A must win game for both teams ensured that this game would be an enthralling one and that would turn out to be the case. Kilmeena had the most of the possesion of the game but some wayward shooting meant that Charlestown went in at the break 7 points up. However after the break Kilmeena came out the stronger side bringing the gap to 2 points including a penalty scored by the keeper Paul Groden. With 2 minutes to go the sides were level but an unforunate rebound off the bar defelcted of a Kilmeena player into his own net leaving the fianl score at Kilmeena 1 - 11
