Burrishoole 4-8 Kilmeena 2-8
Our U14s fell just short in their efforts to make the D Division Championship final on a fine evening away to our old rivals Burrishoole. After storming into a five-point lead after ten minutes, Burrishoole hit back with a couple of points and goals, leaving us four points down at half time.
After the break, Burrishoole extended their lead by another couple of points but our boys dug in and reduced the deficit to just two points. Both teams missed chances but it was Burrishoole who emerged victorious, winning by six points in the end.
Missing four players, it was nonetheless a spirited Kilmeena performance and despite their disappointment and exhaustion at the final whistle they should be proud of their efforts, not just for this game, but for the entire season. We wish Burrishoole the best of luck in their upcoming final against Swinford.
