A Chairde,
I hope this email finds you well today.
With the season now well underway, we wish to remind all clubs, parents, coaches, players, and supporters that Mayo GAA maintains a strict zero tolerance toward any form of racism or the use of racist language within Mayo GAA. Such behaviour is considered a serious breach and a discredit to the Association. Any player, coach, or supporter found to be in violation of this may be subject to disciplinary action.
Please find attached the latest Child Safeguarding Policy below:
We ask that you remind all teams in your club and that this document be circulated among parents, coaches, players, and supporters within your club.
Underage Players on Adult Teams
Clubs are reminded that when an under 18 player participates on an adult team, they remain legally classified as a child. It is essential that all adults conduct themselves appropriately when interacting with or in the presence of underage players. All members should also be mindful of their age, recognising that participation at adult level can present additional challenges for them. care should also be taken in the context of social activities associated with the club, especially where alcohol is involved.
Clubs and team management are required to implement and adhere to all mandatory safeguarding requirements as outlined in the Child Safeguarding Policy.
All adult team managers and coaches, as well as any individuals working with adult teams that include underage players, must hold a valid vetting acceptance letter.
They must have completed Safeguarding Level 1 training.
Be in possession of a coaching qualification. (if they are coaching)
Team management should ensure that all adult players are made aware of the legal status of underage players and the responsibilities this entails.
Thank you for your continued cooperation in upholding these important standards.
Is mise le meas
