Kilmeena V Cill Chomain League Round 2
The Kilmeena Minor Ladies made the long trip to North Mayo to play against Cill Chomain in Round 2 of the league on Wednesday 2nd May, 2018.
After passing the Corrib gas field, the goal posts could be seen in the distance. Kilmeena played with the wind in the first half and created numerous scoring chances. Lisa Rose got an early goal which was followed by goals from Katie Hogan and Shannon Bourke . Aoife Roche, Jamie Geraghty, Katie Hogan, Shannon Bourke and Ciara Joyce added points in the first half. Some great defending limited Cill Chomain to a single point and the teams went in at half time with Kilmeena leading 3 – 6 to 0 - 1.
The second half was dominated by Kilmeena and again good defending and goal keeping prevented Cill Chomain scores. Kilmeena managed to get a single point only in the second half scored by Katie Hogan. After playing some good football against the wind and creating a lot of chances. It was a good win for the ladies who now take a break from competitive football until after exams.
